Ingredients

For the Cauliflower
  • 1 head cauliflower cut into florets
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 cup water or milk
For the Buffalo Sauce
  • 1/2 cup hot sauce
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Equipment

  • Air Fryer
  • Large Bowl
  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add the water (or milk) and whisk until a smooth batter forms. It should be thick but pourable.
  3. Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and toss to coat evenly. Let sit for about 5 minutes.
  4. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  5. Arrange the coated cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches.
  6. Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  7. While the cauliflower is cooking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the hot sauce, melted butter, white vinegar, and garlic powder.
  8. Once the cauliflower is cooked, transfer it to a clean bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the cauliflower and toss to coat.
  9. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.

Notes

For extra crunch, you can double-coat the cauliflower. Dip it in the batter, air fry for 5 minutes, then dip it in the batter again and continue air frying.
