Method
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the water (or milk) and whisk until a smooth batter forms. It should be thick but pourable.
- Add the cauliflower florets to the batter and toss to coat evenly. Let sit for about 5 minutes.
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the coated cauliflower in a single layer in the air fryer basket. You may need to cook in batches.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- While the cauliflower is cooking, prepare the buffalo sauce. In a small bowl, whisk together the hot sauce, melted butter, white vinegar, and garlic powder.
- Once the cauliflower is cooked, transfer it to a clean bowl. Pour the buffalo sauce over the cauliflower and toss to coat.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ranch or blue cheese dressing.
Notes
For extra crunch, you can double-coat the cauliflower. Dip it in the batter, air fry for 5 minutes, then dip it in the batter again and continue air frying.
