Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients
  

For the Mozzarella Sticks
  • 1 pound Mozzarella string cheese cut into halves
  • 1/2 cup All-purpose flour
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black pepper
For Serving
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Equipment

  • Shallow bowls

Method
 

  1. Prepare your breading station. Place flour in one shallow bowl. Whisk eggs in another shallow bowl. Mix panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a third shallow bowl.
  2. Dip each mozzarella stick half first into the flour, then into the whisked eggs, and finally coat thoroughly with the seasoned panko breadcrumbs. Place breaded sticks on a baking sheet.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  4. Arrange the breaded mozzarella sticks in a single layer in the air fryer basket, working in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding.
  5. Air fry for 6-8 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Flip halfway through cooking if desired for even browning.
  6. Serve immediately with marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

For best results, ensure mozzarella sticks are well-coated with breadcrumbs. You can also add Italian seasoning to the breadcrumbs for extra flavor.
