Ingredients

  • 4 skin-on salmon fillets (6-ounce each)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt divided
  • 1/2 medium lemon
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce or tamari
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
Garnish
  • Thinly sliced scallions optional

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Sprinkle the fillets evenly with 1 teaspoon of the kosher salt.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, and the remaining 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt.
  4. Squeeze the juice from the half lemon over the salmon fillets on the baking sheet.
  5. Spoon the honey garlic mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  6. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
  7. Remove the salmon from the oven. Garnish with sliced scallions, if you are using them, before serving.
