Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 (32 ounce) jar spaghetti sauce
Cheese Mixture
  • 32 ounces cottage cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese divided
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese divided
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • to taste salt
  • to taste ground black pepper
Lasagna Assembly
  • 9 lasagna noodles uncooked
  • ½ cup water

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Aluminum foil

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Gather all your ingredients.
  2. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir the ground beef until browned and crumbly, about 8 to 10 minutes. Drain and discard the grease. Stir in the spaghetti sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cottage cheese, 2 cups of mozzarella cheese, eggs, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, dried parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread 3/4 cup of the meat sauce in the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer with 3 uncooked lasagna noodles, 1 3/4 cups of the cheese mixture, and 1/4 cup of sauce. Repeat these layers once more.
  5. Top with the remaining 3 noodles, the rest of the sauce, the remaining mozzarella cheese, and the remaining Parmesan cheese. Pour 1/2 cup of water along the edges of the dish. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
  7. Let the lasagna stand for 10 minutes before serving.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
