Grilled Salmon for Beginners

Ingredients
  

  • 2 8-ounce Salmon fillets
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Melted unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • to taste Coarse salt
  • to taste Freshly cracked pepper

  • Grill brush
  • Kitchen towel
  • Tongs
  • Spatula

Method
 

  1. Portion the salmon fillets to the size you prefer.
  2. Pat the fish dry on all sides with a paper towel.
  3. Drizzle the olive oil over the salmon and rub it in to coat all sides.
  4. Season the fish well with salt and pepper on both sides.
  5. Preheat your grill to high heat, between 450°F and 550°F.
  6. Once the grill is hot, clean the grates with a grill brush.
  7. Oil the grill grates by saturating a kitchen towel with oil and wiping it across the grates using tongs.
  8. Place the salmon flesh side down on the grill and cook for 4 minutes without moving it.
  9. Gently flip the salmon using a spatula or tongs. Cook for another 2 to 3 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches about 125°F.
  10. Remove the salmon from the grill. Top with melted butter and lemon juice. Let it rest for 2 to 3 minutes before serving.
