Ingredients

For the Casserole
  • 6 croissants stale or day-old, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 cup diced ham
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
For the Egg Mixture
  • 6 large eggs

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking dish
  • Large Bowl
  • Whisk

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. In the prepared baking dish, combine the croissant pieces, diced ham, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the croissant mixture in the baking dish.
  5. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  6. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
  7. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg to the egg mixture. If you don't have stale croissants, you can lightly toast fresh ones before cutting.
