Total Time 15 minutes
Servings: 4 fillets
Course: Dinner
Cuisine: Japanese-inspired

Ingredients

For the Miso Glaze
  • 2 tablespoons red miso paste
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 2 teaspoons tamari or dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon hot chili sauce, such as Sriracha
For the Salmon
  • 4 skinless salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each and about 1 1/4 inches thick)

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Small bowl

Method

  1. Preheat your broiler to high. Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the red miso paste, maple syrup, tamari or soy sauce, rice vinegar, and hot chili sauce until the mixture is smooth.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Brush the miso glaze evenly over the top surface of each salmon fillet.
  5. Place the baking sheet under the broiler. Broil for 8 to 10 minutes, watching carefully to prevent burning. The glaze should bubble and the salmon should flake easily when done.
  6. Remove the salmon from the broiler and serve immediately.

Notes

This dish pairs well with steamed green vegetables or a simple side salad for a complete meal. The glaze creates bold flavor, making it satisfying even with minimal sides.
