Ingredients
  

For the Filling
  • 6 cups peeled, sliced peaches fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup milk

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced peaches, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1/4 cup flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the peaches evenly.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into the 9x13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup flour and 1/2 cup brown sugar.
  5. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  6. Stir in the milk until just combined to form a thick batter.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of the topping mixture over the peaches in the baking dish.
  8. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
