Ingredients

Salmon
  • 1 fillet (about 2 pounds) Salmon
  • 1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons Lemon-pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Onion salt
  • 1 small Onion, sliced and separated into rings
  • 6 slices Lemon
  • 1/4 cup Butter, cubed
Dill Sauce
  • 1/3 cup Sour cream
  • 1/3 cup Mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Prepared horseradish
  • 3/4 teaspoon Dill weed
  • 1/4 teaspoon Garlic salt
  • 1 to taste Pepper

Equipment

  • Baking pan
  • Foil

Method

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 15x10x1-inch baking pan with heavy-duty foil and grease it lightly. Place the salmon fillet skin side down on the foil.
  2. Sprinkle the salmon with lemon pepper seasoning and onion salt. Arrange the sliced onion rings and lemon slices on top of the salmon. Dot the salmon with cubed butter.
  3. Fold the foil around the salmon to create a sealed packet. Bake for 20 minutes.
  4. Carefully open the foil, allowing the steam to escape. Broil the salmon 4-6 inches from the heat for 3-5 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
  5. While the salmon is cooking, prepare the dill sauce. Combine the sour cream, mayonnaise, finely chopped onion, lemon juice, prepared horseradish, dill weed, garlic salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Stir until smooth.
  6. Serve the cooked salmon with the dill sauce.
