Seven Layer Taco Dip

This seven-layer taco dip is a crowd-pleasing appetizer perfect for Taco Tuesday or any gathering. It features layers of seasoned refried beans, a creamy sour cream and cream cheese mixture, salsa, fresh vegetables, cheese, and olives.

Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 1 16 ounce can refried beans
  • 1 1 ounce package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 16 ounce container sour cream
  • 1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 16 ounce jar salsa
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 bunch chopped green onions
  • 1 small head iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 6 ounce can sliced black olives, drained

Method
 

  1. Combine refried beans and taco seasoning in a medium bowl. Spread this mixture onto a large serving platter.
  2. In another medium bowl, mix sour cream and cream cheese. Spread this mixture evenly over the refried beans.
  3. Top the cream cheese layer with salsa.
  4. Layer the chopped tomato, bell pepper, green onions, and shredded lettuce over the salsa.
  5. Sprinkle the shredded Cheddar cheese over the vegetables and garnish with the drained black olives.

Notes

This dip is best served chilled or at room temperature. You can prepare the layers ahead of time and assemble just before serving.
