Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Meatballs

These slow cooker honey garlic meatballs are perfect for parties and gatherings. They are easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients
  

For the Meatballs
  • 1 lb Ground beef 80/20 recommended
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1/4 cup Onion finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper
For the Sauce
  • 1 cup Honey
  • 1/2 cup Soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water

Method
 

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the meatballs on all sides over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and minced garlic.
  5. Pour the sauce over the browned meatballs in the slow cooker. Stir to coat.
  6. Cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until meatballs are cooked through and sauce has thickened.
  7. Stir in the cornstarch slurry during the last 30 minutes of cooking to thicken the sauce further.
  8. Serve hot with toothpicks for easy serving.

Notes

You can also use pre-made frozen meatballs to save time. If using frozen meatballs, add them directly to the slow cooker with the sauce and cook on low for 3-4 hours.
