Total Time 30 minutes
Servings: 8 hot dogs
Course: Appetizer, Snack
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

For the Mummy Dogs
  • 8 hot dogs
  • 1 (8-ounce) package refrigerated whole-wheat crescent rolls
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard optional, for eyes

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • Baking sheet

Method

  1. Gather all ingredients. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Place hot dogs in a saucepan and cover with water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer until warmed through, about 5 minutes. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into 8 strips. Wrap one strip of dough around each hot dog, leaving small gaps for the eyes, to create the mummy look.
  4. Use small dots of mustard on the top of each mummy for the eyes. Arrange the mummy dogs on a baking sheet.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough is golden brown and flaky, about 10 to 12 minutes.
  6. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

These mummy dogs are a fun and lighter alternative to traditional versions, perfect for Halloween parties or a festive snack. You can adjust the amount of mustard used for the eyes as desired.
